Décision de la Cour de Justice des Communautés Européennes, rendue en 1995, qui a conduit à l'abolition des indemnités de transfert pour les joueurs en fin de contrat, ainsi qu'à l'abolition des quotas limitant le nombre de joueurs étrangers dans les équipes de club.► L'arrêt Bosman trouve sa source dans le litige opposant le joueur professionnel Jean-Marc Bosman à son ancien club, qui avait empêché son transfert vers un nouveau club en exigeant le versement d'une forte indemnité.
A 1995 European Court of Justice decision, primarily effective in the European countries concerned, which led to the abolition of transfer payments for players whose contract has expired, and to the abolition of limitations on foreign players in club teams.► The Bosman ruling was the result of a lawsuit filed by the professional player Jean-Marc Bosman against his former club, who stopped his move to a new club by demanding a high transfer fee.
